Blanket America Patchwork Heritage
Starting in mid-January, the much anticipated Blanket America Patchwork Heritage Assortment will become available to the public. The project is that the brainchild of a Manhattan bed, bath and window covering style business owner named Mesh Gelman. During President Obama's inaugural address on the night of Januaury 20, 2009, Gelman was struck with inspiration. With the words, "our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness" Gelman latched on to an plan and also the Patchwork Heritage Quilt was born.
The patches of this quilt are cut from 13 totally different materials to represent the 13 colonies. Every patch is lovingly sewn along out of a desire for unity and profound respect of country, freedom and fellow man. Commemorating the historic and inspirational words of our president, the back of the quilt is printed with the complete Presidential inaugural address on a background that includes the stunning lady liberty. Though America contains a centuries old tradition of commemorative blankets, never before has such a robust statement of unity and political support been made through a quilt.
The Blanket America Assortment makes an incredibly attractive package to retailers and consumers. The quilt's packaging, that features shades of red, white and blue, is meant to make large displays look like patchwork quilts, adding even additional symbolism to the present collection. The Patchwork Heritage quilt, shams and ornamental pillows are all stylishly crafted and cleverly designed, ensuring high visibility and sales.
As a result of their goal is so auspicious, Blanket America has partnered with Gifts in Kind International to make this project a reality. Gifts in Kind International works with 0.5 the Fortune 100 companies, that has helped to generate a ton of positive word of mouth for the project. Due to the support of such a wonderful organization, JC Pennies has agreed to hold the collection in its stores nationwide by mid-January.
