Horse Wear Typical Sort Of Clothing Accessories
Maybe you are new to owning a horse, or maybe you just want to get new clothing or accessories for your horse, there is nothing to worry about. If you need to learn about what types of each horse wear to get, then all you need to do is read! Once you have read about them, you will know exactly what to get.
You can learn about the common equipment for a horse very fast, it does not take long because it is very understandable. The 3 main categories of gear for a horse are rugs, bridles, and saddles.
A horse rug is a material which is fastened to the horse to benefit either the horse or the rider, some may benefit the horse by preventing things, or to keep it warm, but some may be to benefit the rider, or both at the same time. The main types of horse rugs are anti-sweat, fly, stable, and turnout rugs.
The anti-sweat rug is made of cotton mesh, and is used to help the process of the horse cooling down, after an event of some sort such as a competition. An anti-sweat rug is also sometimes used to protect he horse from insect irritation. The fly rug is made of fine mesh, and it is very light in weight. Fly rugs are often used for preventing fly irritation, as they are designed for, but also sometimes used to prevent sun burns, bleaching of the fur, and similar threats. The fly rug may also include a flap to protect the horses stomach area. The stable rug is a non-outdoor rug, primarily used to keep the horse clean. Stable rugs are made with a padded synthetic material, thus meaning that they are not waterproof. This rug allows the horse to move around freely and is breathable. The last common rug mentioned, the turnout rug, is made with material which means that it is waterproof as long as you reproof it occasionally. The turnout rug is designed to keep the horse warm in the winter, and to also keep the horse clean. Although it is very lightweight, it is also very feeble, this means if the horse is in an environment with sharp objects, or a lot of branches etc., the rug may easily be ripped.
A horse bridle is a tack, made of leather straps, which holds in place the metal bit in the horses mouth and the reins on the horse, for the rider to control it. There are two main types of horse bridles. The two types are English bridles, and Western bridles.
The English bridle is commonly a more stylish bridle used mostly for shows, competitions, etc. The Western bridle is usually used for training or general use. Which bridle used is up to the rider; however, the type of bridle you use should depend on what accessories you are going to use/attach.
To ride a horse, you need something to sit on! That is what the saddle is, a seat for the rider, to keep the rider securely positioned on the horse for whatever event they are doing. It all depends on you and your horse for which type of saddle you use, but here are many different types available. This means that whatever you are looking for, you can probably find it. You may also want to think about getting multiple saddles, because each saddler can serve a different purpose.
If you want a saddle to attend a jump event, an assault course of some kind, or maybe you are just training your horse for such things, then you may want the all-purpose English saddle. But if the horse is a bred-racer, then to compete in racing, or maybe just for training for races, you may want to use a racing saddle. A saddle for general purpose, for example taking the horse a walk around the field or barn, then you may need a Western saddle. Other than these, there are also saddles made to suit certain preferences. Just like the Australian stock saddle was created for comfort, and the reining saddle was created for its lightweight purpose, the treeless saddle was made for horses with wider-backs. There were also some saddles designed to fit preferences of the riders, such as the dressage saddle, which was made for riders who want a deep seat on the horse.
There are a lot of horse wear you may want to get if you are new to taming a horse, racing a horse, or even just having a horse as a pet. You would need a variety of clothing, accessories, and maybe even horse care products.
