If you're graduating, and have decided to wear pink to your prom, we hope you're thinking about hot pink or fuchsia and not baby pink or soft rose color with lace. Hot pink is IN and a definite DO, but soft pink is out and lace is better left behind. Naturally you're probably not going to buy pink satin pumps with little bows, so we suggest high heeled platforms or sexy strappy hot pink sandals. Here are some Prom Day Don'ts and some suggestions on what to choose instead.

Here Are Some Pink Prom Day Don'ts:

1. Pink flats with little bunny faces - not even the expensive ones by certain designers that sell for over $200. They're a Don't when it comes to dancing the night away, but a definite DO after you've spent the evening dancing in heels. Flats are great for pants, but so attractive with a prom dress.

2. although some of the newest sandals are marketed as a ladies shoe for dancing, some of them are not ideal for prom. Why? Even if the color is right, let's say a really fun hot pink with bead work accenting, you still want to stay away from sandals that are slides. Slides often equal slip-sliding about because they don't offer a single strap for support. Without support they will be difficult to dance in, impossible if you decide to wear pantyhose or nylons (your feet will slide hither and thither). Also, many slides only have a teeny 1 or two inch granny style heel. Not sexy at all. Slides are great for wearing to a dinner party but probably not the best idea for your prom.

3. Ballet flats may be fun and covered in gorgeous floral patterns but when it comes to choosing your once in a lifetime pink prom shoes, we suggest a little more of a heel.

4. Too far out and wild can be just as bad as ultra conservative, and although we really love some of newest funky pink knee-high boots, some that even look somewhat like sandals, most aren't quite appropriate for prom. Matching a dress to boots takes ingenuity and can be pulled off, but we suggest choosing something a little more feminine for prom.

What To DO:

1. We really love some of the Miu Miu high heeled creation in hot pink, if you can afford them. Actually almost anything from that designer is a DO. If they're not within your budget, we know they're expensive, then try some of these suggested items.

Cheap ladies shoes Ideas That work For Prom:

1. Nine West has a pair of really hot shoes called the Coyote - fabulous prom shoes and not too expensive

2. Paris Hilton has designed a pair called the Taurus Pump - very chic and faun, also reasonably priced

3. Pleaser Women's Chic 14 Sandal is something else to keep in mind if you're on a budget

4. We think that if you're on a tight budget and need something funky and trendy, you can try almost an of teh wonderful items by BCBG.
